Bought the whole set in 2008 and now all 4 phones have the same problem, the center pad that you choose your phone book or caller id list is unuseable. I wrote to them explaining the problem, they wrote back telling me how to reset the phone. I am a nut with phones, make sure they are always back on the hook, make sure everyone treats them as I would. But in the end, every phone has the same problem, so it's safe to say that all of these that they sell are made the same cheap way. When I wrote back again explaining that resetting the phone would not help, well I never did hear from them again. So there you go, Don't Bye These Phones.
To add insult to injury, when I did finally call their pay support number, I had to wait twenty minutes for someone to answer. Consequently, I tried to call customer service, however Uniden only offers email customer service. We have the Uniden cordless phone, and recently had some problems with the battery lasting less than a day on a charge. Simply pathetic. I finally found a Texas number for them where one has to pay to call them This is a far cry from Panasonic or Sony which both offer free, toll-free support. Apparently, Uniden is too cheap to offer a toll-free support number, and they want you to pay for the phone call. I would avoid this company. Apparently Uniden does not want to put any money towards customers, so why should customers pay for their phones.
I bought six of these phones a little less than a year ago. They all say out of range at least once a day and this is when I am standing in the same room with the base. Over the course of the year, they have one at a time, ALL lost the functions of the caller ID and phone book. On one phone you can hear the person calling but they can't hear you. I bought three of the phones from Target and three from Amazon so I don't think it is just a bad batch. I think they are junk.
i like getting my messages from any handset. i really like this phone. it does everything i want a cordless phone to do. speakerphone works very good. and it has long battery life between charges.
When our old Uniden home phone system finally stopped working well we wanted to replace them with a newer Uniden system because the old system was excellent. The cons are:- This phone does not display the date and time on the face- You cannot set a phone ringer to silent (we like to leave a satellite phone in our baby's room)- When you use the intercom feature both the phone you are paging as well as the phone you use to send the page both make a shrill noise- I don't like how the number pad is designed. Our old Uniden each number had its own button. With this new Uniden the numbers are all on one long strip so if you are trying to dial quickly its easy to mash in between and dial the wrong number- Maybe we got duds but the batteries are already not holding a charge for very long and we got these phones about 6 months agoThe pro is:The range and clarity of the phones are impressive. The old phones would start to lose the signal walking a little bit from our house but with the new phones I can walk all the way to the alley and still hear clearly.Overall I am not impressed with this new system and would not recommend it.
